Our usual activities continued throughout Jenny's visit, which included some excellent artwork, glazing of handmade pottery items and singing along to some favourite music from times past.
Jenny interviewed our Manager, Bridget, Yvonne who is a carer, and also had a chat with Sadie, our Publicity/ Fundraising Officer and Mental Health Support Worker.
We believe this will be broadcast next Tuesday, March 10th. Do listen out for us during the show, if we are given an approximate time I will post an update here.
Following Jenny's visit, we continued working on some pieces of art, discussed our favourite songs and shared some memories of our younger days. It had previously been decided as a group, that once a month everyone would like to order some fish and chips, so Jane took everyone's order and collected a delicious lunch for us. There's something very comforting about 'fish Friday!' It's so good to sit around the table together over a meal and great company.
Also during the morning we made the most of the beautiful weather and had a lovely walk around the Healing Garden. It was so lovely chatting about cottage garden flowers, the memories of being able to see Cowslips and Primroses beneath the hedgerows years ago-sadly a rare sight these days. Just being outside with the warm sun on your face and a gentle breeze (if a little chilly up in our garden) blowing our hair is very refreshing, and evokes special, wonderful memories.
