Colin Nash,
Address Omitted Dear Sir/ Madam, I am seeking to nominate Bridget Harvey for the Charity Champion because of her work at Heads Up. Bridget has built this charity up into the busy, ‘can do’ exciting place it is today. Bridget is the Manager and the driving force behind this project. For 3 years they had no funding but were able to provide services for adults with mental health issues just by Bridget’s power of persuasion and passion for her cause. Her ability to build relationships through her enthusiasm is a miracle to behold. She has been able to draw in local business support as well as attract high profile support from local MPs and even the Bishop of Bath & Wells. Heads Up now provide around 80 service users a week with meaningful activities that for many provide the essential helping hand toward greater independence and recovery. After many bureaucratic hurdles Heads up has now secured some funding from Social Services (no mean feat in a time of cuts). Bridget is supported by a growing group of volunteers and dedicated group of trustees but I have no doubt that Heads up would not today be able to do the work it does without her passion and drive. Yours sincerely, Colin Nash |
